Tara Lockhart is Assistant Professor of English at San Francisco State University, where she coordinates the first-year writing program, teaches undergraduate writing, and teaches theory and pedagogy courses for the MA in Composition. Her research focuses on the pedagogical possibilities of hybrid, multi-genre essays to extend students' rhetorical, generic, and stylistic repertoires, as well as knowledge transfer between contexts (namely the lower and upper divisions). She is particularly interested in literacy issues and teacher training.
